Sam Saunders is happy with what he has contributed to the Dagenham season so far.

The 25-year-old, who has scored 8 goals and had a hand in a further 9, has helped Dagenham to their current position of 8th in League Two and he feels that he has contributed a lot to the clubs season: ‘The assists are my game really and if the goals come then they come, but I’m pleased with both and hopefully I can get some more,’ Saunders told BBC Essex.

It was nice to come straight back in (having served a three-match suspension) as John Nurse has done fantastically whilst I’ve been suspended and if I hadn’t got back in then it would have been justified.

‘But I think I’ve done well this season and to get straight back in means I can pick up the momentum I had previously.’

Do you agree with Sam Saunders’ self-assessment?
