Defender Brian Saah has said that although results obviously haven’t been great in pre season so far, he feels the team are ready for the challenge of the coming season.

Focusing on fitness rather than the results and losses we have had, he told the Official Site.

‘I feel fit and ready for the start of the season. I think it’s gone quite well, results haven’t always gone our way, but the boys have been working hard to get 90 minutes under their belts and we’re ready for the start of the season.’

With Saah now entering the second year of his time with us, he said he feels on a personal level last season went well for him especially with the number of games he played, and the consistency he showed, and he was also pleased to be called upon at points to skipper the team when Abu was missing.

With the visit of Tottenham Hotspur next up in pre season, the 27 year old added that he feels it’s a great time for us to face Premier League opposition now and that all the players are determined to put on a good showing and get a positive outcome from the match so we can hopefully go into the season now looking to improve on what we achieved last year, but this time not fall away as we did as the season came to a close.
