Despite Medy Elito and VVV Venlo talking as though a deal has gone through for the winger, on his reported new two year deal, Dagenham and Redbridge have said it hasn’t yet been finalised.

Dutch Division side VVV Venlo have only just recently come in for him, and they have already confirmed the signing of the 23 year old indicating he could play in their friendly tomorrow, but apparently things aren’t that clear cut yet.

Venlo’s football advisor said.

‘Medy is a two footed fast winger that can bring what we are looking for. He can provide assists and score himself. Hopefully he can participate in the match against FC Porto on Wednesday already.’

Medy himself said.

‘I am happy that I can play and I’m trying to make my contribution to the ambitions of this club. Attacking and attractive football suits me. I will do everything to win the hearts of the audience of Venlo.’

A statement from Dagenham announcing the development said however.

‘Following a request from Medy Elito for a transfer to Dutch side VVV Venlo, due to personal reasons, the club have agreed terms for the midfielder. Both clubs expect the transfer to go through by the end of this week or early next week at the latest.’

The player joined us back in the summer of 2011, and has gone on to make 126 appearances for the club across all competitions. In that time he has returned 18 goals.
