Dagenham have today confirmed that midfielder Matt Saunders has now left the club by mutual consent.

The 24 year old joined us part way through the 2011-12 season and did have a further 12 months on his existing contract, but both parties have agreed to terminate that.

Since joining us from Lincoln, over that time he made more than 40 appearances for the club after making his debut back in the game against Oxford United back in September 2012, but unfortunately his time with us has been plagued by numerous injury issues.

This meant he only appeared four times for us this season in the league, with a further two appearances in the Johnstone’s Paint Trophy.

He leaves with the best wishes of the club, who thank him for his contribution, and obviously hope he can now get his career back on track.
