Fresh from signing his new contract with Dagenham and making his club debut in the friendly defeat to Maidstone, new wideman Joss Labadie has said he’s excited by the potential at the club.

Having signed his two year deal and having been thrust straight into the mix, he told the Official Site that he’d actually spoken to manager Wayne Burnett a few weeks back and following that chat he knew he wanted to sign with us, it’s just been a case of getting it done and signed.

‘It’s a club on the up and I wanted to be a part of that. All of the players in midfield are good players so hopefully I can keep them on their toes and push for the starting line up.’

The 23 year old also discussed the elephant in the room which was his ten match ban for biting during his time with Torquay at the end of last season.

‘It was difficult, but the FA came to the decision. It’s all in the past now, I want to move on and I’m looking forward to kick starting my career at the Daggers.’

Having obviously already joined the team for training, Labadie admits that it’s tough and they are certainly being put through their paces, but he’s been made to feel very welcome by the playing staff already so he’s looking forward to getting to peak fitness and then hopefully showing the fans what he’s all about as a player.
