Following on from our one nil victory over Oxford, midfielder Luke Howell has said the Dagenham and Redbridge team are looking now to stage a late play off push this season, but of course going unbeaten in March is a good start, but we definitely need to pick up more wins during April if that is the aim.

Speaking to the Official Site after seeing his shot last weekend bounce off two players before going in the back of the net, Howell was delighted to have played a part in securing the first victory on home soil but now called on them all to really kick on now in the remaining games.

‘It was good to get the three points, it was the main thing with our home form recently. We’ve been playing okay but not got the win. The home win was really needed, it kept us in the running for the play offs.’

Howell goes on to say that he knows the team have worked very hard this season, especially to have put ourselves in this position now where a play off push is viable albeit a long shot with the points we have to make up, but he also knows luck hasn’t been with us and we should’ve pulled out more results previously this campaign so the focus has to be on not wasting opportunities now and building on March unbeaten with a win at Oxford is the perfect way to begin that run.

With Wycombe up next going back to back victories would be a big boost for the challenge Howell has publicly laid down now but he says we go into that match very confident indeed given our away form especially and he feels, at least ahead of the game, that coming back with anything less than three points would be disappointing at this stage.
