Having recently extended his loan spell at Dagenham and Redbridge from parent club Brentford, Luke Norris admitted that he was disappointed with only a point from the game last weekend against Mansfield Town.

Speaking to the Official Site following the match, Norris talked firstly about his time with us so far and he was pleased to have settled in the way he has done and he’s been pretty pleased with his level of performance and contribution thus far.

‘It was good to get the deal done so I knew I had some stability and so I know where I’m going to be for the next few weeks and the opportunity come to extend it so I’m happy with that.’

Since arriving Norris has played in eight games so far, and did score in his first two matches for us, but given our current run of form he played down his own performances, despite being relatively happy with them, and focused on how the team is doing as that was the all important thing for him.

‘It was good to have scored two goal in two games, but I think the main thing is the results haven’t really gone our way so if we start picking up some more points then I’ll be happy with that.’

As for the Mansfield game he goes on to say that really it was just one of those days where nothing was going to fall for us despite our best efforts and it felt like Dagenham just weren’t going to score over the course of the game, but in turn he knows it could’ve been a thumping victory for us on any other day.

Whilst it wasn’t going for us up front though, Norris credits the defensive shift we put in to make sure we still took something from the game as the last thing we’d want to have done is come out of the match with nothing to show for our efforts.

On to the next game and the hope that it clicks at all ends of the pitch.
