Scott Doe has said that overall he feels people can be happy with our progress this season, but he wants us to go out on a high and with a victory this weekend to set us up for further growth next term.

Speaking to the Official Site ahead of the game, the main positive for Doe is that instead of battling away at the wrong end of the table this season, we were safe and comfortable higher up and there was that security even though obviously some results could’ve gone a lot better for us especially in this half of the season.

‘It’s been a long, hard, draining season with ups and downs. Obviously a few more downs lately, but we want to go out on Saturday and finish the season on a high with three points. It’s good we are not down the bottom fighting, but at the same time it would’ve been good to be in or around the play offs, but it’s good to not worry about the bottom.’

Doe goes on to say that as the season has progressed there are obviously games that we should’ve won and didn’t get a result in, and had those games gone for us he doesn’t believe a play off push would’ve been out of the question and of course that is a fantastic turnaround from where we were last season, but the positives are there and players will have learned from it, so we just have to continue looking up next campaign.

‘We’ve got a young and talented team. In some ways we’ve slightly underachieved, but on the whole we’ve done well really. If we win on Saturday we can finish as high as ninth, which would be a really good season for us.’

Doe have every faith therefore moving forward that next season we can continue to push forward and push up higher in the league because for the young lads, they can only get better with the experience they have had this season.
