Striker Chris Dickson has said he’s really enjoying life at Dagenham and he feels his performances are starting to show that he’s really getting up to speed fitness wise now.

Speaking to the Official Site Dickson talked about his progress in the team so far since joining us and specifically his performance in the Essex Senior Cup earlier this week.

He also explains that everyone has made him feel really welcome and he thanks everybody at the club for giving him time to get his fitness up and for helping him to play catch up with the rest of the team.

‘Obviously I have some catching up to do, maybe not much more, but missing pre season makes it difficult and it does take a toll. Hopefully I can start turning my Essex Senior Cup goals into League goals.’

Dagenham obviously won the game over East Thurrock 5-1 progressing to the quarter finals of the competition and Dickson grabbed himself a brace in the match and he admitted it was another good run out for him, because not only do games positively affect your fitness, but it also allows you to adjust to your colleagues and the kinds of decisions they will make in a much better way than training ever can because of the additional pressures of a competitive game.

Dickson also says that he’s been very impressed with the quality within the squad since joining on but clearly the two stand out players for him are Abu Ogogo and Luke Howell simply because of their work ethic and their desire in the middle of the pitch.
