Dagenham and Redbridge have signed former West Ham striker Zavon Hines on a 12 month contract.

Hines played twice during pre season for the club and Wayne Burnett told the Official Site he was delighted to welcome him to the club properly.

‘I’m delighted that we have managed to bring Zavon Hines to the club. After miscommunications and lengthy discussions, I am convinced that he wants to be part of Dagenham and Redbridge. He is an exciting talent with unquestionable ability and has a hunger to succeed.’

The 24 year old made his debut for West Ham in their game against Macclesfield in the League Cup and scored his first goal for them back in November 2009 against Aston Villa.

He made a total of 31 appearances for them, scoring 3 times and had a loan spell with Coventry.

He moved to Burnley in the 2011/12 season and played 13 times. He then moved to Bradford in July 2012 making 41 appearances.

He has been handed the No 41 shirt and is available for the Newport game.
