Dagenham have announced the signing of striker Jamie Cureton on a one year contract today.

The hugely experienced 38 year old had been training with Cheltenham and expected to sign a new deal with them, following his release by the same club over the summer, but manager Wayne Burnett invited him down for a trial and all has worked out and he’s now signed a deal with us.

With the signing announced, Cureton told the Official Site that he was hoping the club would prove to be a happy home hunting ground for him, given he actually scored his 250th career goal at Victoria Park.

‘It’s been a good ground for me, I’ve been here twice and scored twice. Hopefully I can continue to get the goals here now that I play for the club.’

Having scored 11 last term for Cheltenham, but the consensus being his first year there didn’t really work out for him, he added that it was an okay season but he’s looking forward – and he’s confident he can – have a much better campaign in 2014-15.
