Dagenham and Redbridge are represented in the latest Football League team of the week that has been selected after this week’s action.

The performance by Jamie Cureton in the two one victory over Morecambe on Tuesday evening at the London Borough of Barking and Dagenham Stadium was enough to earn them a place in the side alongside the other most impressive performers in the Football League pyramid.

I think we’ll already know ourselves, and not just based on the latest performance, why Cureton was selected as part of the team but explaining the choice – the FL blurb read.

‘The 40-year-old veteran forward helped clinch Dagenham’s first win in five outings by clinching a crucial second goal in the club’s 2-1 win over Morecambe. Cureton netted his eighth goal of the season, however Daggers remain bottom of the table and are 11 points from safety.’

It’s always good to see the club represented in this way, and well played to Cureton for his recognition, but the most important thing about the match was of course taking the three points.
