A more pleasing pre season friendly showing and result against Concord Rangers for Dagenham on Tuesday evening.

Manager Wayne Burnett used the game to give pitch time to two trialist, George Porter and Andre Boucaud but Carmarthen striker Chris Doidge began on the bench.

A goal in each half was enough to see off the opposition this time round and Dagenham’s score line could’ve been greater with the chances created.

Jamie Cureton opened the scoring on 23 minutes after he was set free by Porter, and concord certainly made a game of it after falling behind.

Chances dried up in the second half and although the match was somewhat fizzling out, Concord were on top when a quick break away five minutes from full time secured us the victory. Bradley Goldberg pulled the goal back after a good running, and Luke Howell slotted home to help us see the game out more comfortably.

Dagenham:

O`Brien (Cousins 64), Partridge, Connors (Green 25), Doe (Gayle 64), Gayle (Saah 46), Boucaud (Howell 64), Porter, Ogogo, Cureton (Doidge 64), Chambers, Hemmings (Goldberg 50).

Wayne Burnett was obviously pleased at full time but admitted he still feels we need another striker and wide player to really compliment the team this season.

‘I thought it was an okay performance and the players got a good work out and it was good for the players who got 90 minutes, so that’s pleasing.’

Left back Jack Connors was taken off early after a tasty challenge and the gaffer confirmed that was more precautionary than anything as there’s no point risking things at this stage of the year.
