Dagenham have announced the signing of former loanee Ashley Chambers on a two year deal.

He had a brief loan spell with us last season, and despite Cambridge’s promotion, he has now moved to us on a permanent deal.

The 24 year old had a good impact when he was here last, coming on as a substitute in the game against Exeter and helping himself to his first assist when he set up another loanee Luke Norris to score.

In total he made six appearances and was impressive, but was recalled early to support their promotion push which ended in success for them.

Speaking to the Official Site after signing the deal, he said.

‘I really enjoyed my time here when I was on loan for the month, it’s great to be back and I’m really excited to get going. I’m also looking forward to getting started and seeing all the lads again. Whilst I was on loan, Wayne said he was really pleased with me and was always trying to entice me to the club this season.’

Obviously he has a few aims having now joined us on a permanent basis and not only does he want to increase his Dagenham assist tally, he also wants to find the back of the net regularly as scoring wasn’t something he managed before.

Welcome to the club.
