Manager Wayne Burnett has said he was pleased to see Dagenham and Redbridge pick up a point against Northampton, although he was obviously a little frustrated to see us not hold on to the lead after we fought back from one behind.

Speaking to London24 following the match Burnett said he was delighted to see Dagenham pick up a point at the first time of asking following our last defeat to Cheltenham which saw the end of our eight game unbeaten run, although he’d have preferred all three, he’s not going to grumble.

‘The pleasing thing for me is that we have come to a place that’s not easy and got a point. Forget the position they are in the league, they have got some good players and there’s no doubt about that.’

Burnett admits that maybe the side were a little bit fortunate to go in at the half time break two one up, but he was delighted with the spirit shown after we conceded the early goal to get back into a winning position in the game.

Especially as he admits that Northampton were the better side for the first thirty minutes.

Hopefully we can build on that now and get another unbeaten run going when we face Southend tomorrow evening.
