29 year old defender Damian Batt has returned to Dagenham and Redbridge today and signed a two year deal.

Having had a brief spell with us back in 2004, he has gone on to play for Barnet, St Albans Cuty, Stevenage, Woking, Fisher Athletic, Grays Athletic, Oxford United and most recently Eastleigh.

He moved to his last club in 2013 from Oxford having made 177 appearances for the League Two side and in his time with them he helped them to success in the Conference National Play Off Final that they won back in 2010.

In 2010-11 he was also voted into the Football League Two PFA Team of the Year, and he has other promotion success as he helped Barnet to the title in the Conference National back in the 2004-05 season.

This will be his second spell under manager Wayne Burnett as they both worked together during their time at Fisher Athletic, and he becomes our third additional in the past 48 hours following on from Mark Cousins and Nathan Green.

Speaking to the Official Site the manager said.

‘Damian is a player that I’ve known for a very long time, he’s a good athlete, has a good footballing brain and I think it’s a major coup for us getting him. It’s another player that will bring in experience.’
